Are YOU Going To Survive For Eternity?
A letter from a Christian prepper to you – perhaps the most important survival tip you will ever hear.
For the record, this is not some type of “religious weirdo nutjob going on a Bible bashing rant”. Please hear me out on this one and read this all the way through with an open heart and mind. Something very important is at stake here.
Dear Prepper, Survivalist, Bushcrafter or whatever you want to call yourself…
With news headlines constantly churning out doom and gloom such as a looming WW3, the global economy speeding head-on down an abyss, the Zika Virus biowarfare mechanism, earthquakes happening all over the globe and a dizzying amount of other mayhem going on, I think it’s time to stop and put everything into perspective here.
Did you know that the Holy Bible prophesies about the “end times”? “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.” – Luke 21:10-11 (NASB)
I fully believe we are now in the end times or “end of days” as some people call it. There is plenty of evidence for it. Just look at the news and world events. A shocking increase in wickedness and corruption on this planet – just look at it.
The passage of Scripture mentioned before was written some 2000 years ago. Interesting and fascinating isn’t it? It’s amazing how accurate the Word of God is and how it is so relevant for today.
I have a question for you and that is: “are you prepared for the End of Days?” Soul searching question isn’t it? It’s a question I ask myself all the time. And if you’re honest with yourself, you will too.
You see, one day each of us will die and we will all have to give account of our lives to God. That includes everyone from Malcolm Turnbull to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Vladimir Putin, the Pope, Kim Jong Un, David Rockefeller and everyone in between. No if’s or but’s. All the preps and survival skills in the world won’t help you when it comes to your destiny for eternity. We need to equip ourselves not only for the unexpected in this life but also in the life that is to come. What if you died in a vehicle accident tomorrow? Approximately 1,700 die in vehicle accidents each year in Australia alone. How about an earthquake? On average about 10,000 people die per year as a result of earthquakes. How about a pandemic? Staticians estimate that anywhere between 151,700 and 575,400 people perished worldwide from 2009 H1N1 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.
Nuclear war? An estimated 220,000 people were killed as a result of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Atomic Bombings in 1945. And that was only an atomic bomb. 70 odd years later, world powers such as the US, Russia, China and North Korea have thermo-nuclear weapons that are powerful enough to wipe out this entire planet’s population.
How about sudden cardiac arrest? This year 30,000 people in Australia will die of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and one of those statistics just could be you. Doctors all agree that 10 out of 10 people die. 154,000 people around the globe die each day – that’s 107 people a minute or 2 per second.
Enough statistics for now. Whether it’s tonight, next week or in 70 odd years time, we all must face the reality of death and while it is not pleasant to think about this issue, it is inevitable. Do you know where you’re going once your heart stops beating and you leave this planet we call home? I’m glad I do.
All of us are sinners, from the time we are born to the time we die. We are told in the Bible that mankind has fallen short of God’s standard, the Ten Commandments – i.e. you shall not steal, you shall not lie, you shall not commit adultery (which also includes looking at women with lust), and because of that, the wages or the price of sin is death so in other words because of our sin we deserve to die. That is why the world is in the horrible mess that it is in today because mankind has disobeyed God’s very reasonable and logical commandments that are in place for our own good and the peace, harmony and wellbeing of society. Instead man wanted to do the total opposite and rebel against God’s laws.
Regardless whether you think you’re a good person, breaking just one of God’s laws is enough to send you to hell. But the good news is that we’re also told that the gift of God is eternal life through his son Jesus Christ because He took all our sins (that includes you… and me) away by dying on a cross taking our punishment in place of us. That is the free gift of life He offers to all who repent (turn away) from their sin and trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross. So instead of dying in your sins and spending eternity in hell (and trust me on this one, eternity is a long, long time) which is a place reserved for those who turn down God’s free gift of salvation you can instead spend the rest of eternity in Heaven with our Creator and Redeemer and enjoy a wonderful relationship with him.
Accepting Christ as my Lord and Saviour nearly ten years ago was the best choice I ever made in my life. That is why I can have peace and joy in a broken and troubled world where we are surrounded on every side by the vilest of human depravity and injustice. Jesus Christ gives me reason to live and He can give you the reason to live. As a Christian I’m not perfect, I’m not somehow more righteous than everyone else, I’m a sinner like the rest of the world but the difference is that I’m forgiven because I’ve repented and accepted God’s free gift of life and now I belong to Him. So whether I die tomorrow or in the next pandemic, I know where I’m going and I take great confidence and peace in that.
If you have questions, are searching or are unsure about your status before God then please feel free to comment below or PM us and we’d be more than happy to discuss. You won’t be greeted with criticism or judgment of any kind but rather a listening ear and a compassionate heart. Be honest with yourself. The only person you’re fooling is yourself by saying you don’t need Christ. If you disagree with what has been said, then please do so politely, we’re certainly not here to Bible bash.
I have nothing to gain by writing this. It’s not a marketing spiel or “trying to gain brownie points for Jesus”. Far from it. What is at stake is your soul here and it’s not something you should gamble away just like that. Think about this seriously and do some soul searching. You have to come to your own conclusion yourself. May God bless you.
Yours Very Sincerely,
Are you really a good person? Let’s see…
